Sarah Seman , BSc
LAB ALUMNI
Sarah Seman graduated from Cedarville University in 2021 with a BSc in molecular and cellular biology with a minor in biomedical engineering. Her published undergraduate research focused on the development of custom 3D printed PLA and titanium bone implants in relation to their biocompatibility and generating genetic constructs for neurological disease research.
Sarah served as an academic health research fellow where she actively worked on (1) the genetically encoded nanotechnological tools project led by post-doc Krish and (2) developing the TimeBow high resolution live-imaging tool to monitor physiological cell functions. Sarah continues to work remotely as she analyzes data and writes her manuscript.
Currently, Sarah is pursuing her PhD in biomedical engineering at the Ohio State University. Her work focuses on sarcoidosis as she designs a 3D disease model based on an earlier 2D version. Sarah’s research goals focus on using an engineering-minded problem solving approach to solve biological challenges. Outside the lab, Sarah enjoys reading, rock climbing, and the limited gardening she can do in a city apartment.
