Sandeep Singh, PhD
Postdoctoral Scholar (HUJI)
Sandeep's academic passion for neurodegeneration was sparked by the intricate interplay between cellular pathology and microbial influences in disease. Now, he uses expansion microscopy to dissect these mechanisms at nanoscale resolution, aiming to reveal fundamental biological insights with therapeutic potential.
Sandeep investigates how microorganisms contribute to neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, using expansion microscopy (ExM) to visualize their interactions with neural tissues at nanoscale resolution with a focus on gender-specific mechanisms and also to identify novel therapeutic targets tailored to these differences.
Sandeep wants to eventually establish a multidisciplinary lab that bridges neurobiology, microbial science, and therapeutic discovery employing advanced imaging to identify novel neural targets, decode microbiome-brain interactions, and develop precision cures for neurodegenerative diseases.
