Esther Silberberg
PhD Student (HUJI)
Esther Silberberg is exploring the pathobiome of the Parkinson’s brain and its immune underpinnings. Her immune and biology roots from her biomedical B.Sc at Haifa University, along with loved ones being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, led her to focus her attention on the Pathogen Hypothesis of Neurodegeneration.
Esther is working on establishing a definitive correlation between pathogenic infection and Parkinson's Disease pathogenesis, and plans on diving deep into the causative mechanisms of this correlation. Given the widely known idiom “knowing the sickness is half the cure”, she hopes to uncover potential mechanisms of manipulating this process.
